I know what you are thinking, but hear me out, Paul George being traded was one of his crowning moments in OKC.

The OKC Thunder traded Paul George on Saturday Morning, 1:42 local time, to be exact. I was awake, watching strange things when Adrian Wojnarowski sent the tweet that marked the end of another chapter in Thunder history. I went to my desk and wrote this article.

So how does Paul George departure signal a top moment for his Thunder legacy?

Because of how beautiful he handled it in unison with Thunder General Manager Sam Presti.

For a disgruntled star, who wanted to return home and pair up with one of the best players in the league, Sam Presti earned a historic haul from the desperate Clippers to jump start the franchise’s rebuild.

That can not happen without Paul George.

Paul George requested a trade earlier in the week, yet it somehow did not leak out from anyone online, not even a small cookie crumble. In a world in 2019 that features so many “reporters” citing fake sources to try and be first to possibly break a story, it was a move no one even tried to fake.

George worked with Presti and kept it silent, allowing the Thunder to hold the leverage and get a historic haul. For that, Thunder fans should be thankful.
