Paul George’s LA Clippers intro and sit down with Rachel Nichols offered his first comments on the trade. PG touched on player empowerment and details on his OKC Thunder exit leaving us with more questions than answers.

OKC Thunder fans were caught in the maelstrom of an out of nowhere trade of Paul George to the LA Clippers on July 6th. Since then the club has sent out rising star Jerami Grant and the franchise cornerstone Russell Westbrook.

Until Wednesday all the Thunder fanbase had to go on was the typical social media commentary and a few articles from scribes. But the actual parties involved had yet to provide a deeper account. Fans wanted more – such as confirmation George instigated the trade, when it was requested and why George was so quick to jump ship just a season removed from re-signing for four years.

To wit, Paul George’s unique take at his LA Clippers introduction coupled with its reiteration and further expansion with Rachel Nichols will be sure to cause some conflict. Specifically, his commentary regarding how his trade to the Clippers came to pass and the process he and the OKC Thunder underwent en route to the end of his tenure appeared stilted and rehearsed.

Prior to the Nichols interview, George along with Leonard was introduced to the Clippers media where he delivered a short statement and answered questions.
