OKC Thunder preseason schedule offers measuring stick for reformulated roster
The OKC Thunder released their four-game preseason schedule Wednesday which includes two games against the young Mavericks squad.
Fans are still anxiously awaiting the full regular season schedule release by the NBA which should be coming early this month. For the moment, the OKC Thunder has whetted our tastebuds with the 2019-20 preseason schedule.
Most notably two of the four games feature the young and upcoming Dallas Mavericks team. Another game finds the Thunder facing a team from the Australia National Basketball League – the New Zealand Breakers which is sure to excite our Big Kiwi, Steven Adams assuming he remains on the club through to preseason. The final game of the four features another young reformulated club – the Memphis Grizzlies.
In three of the four matches, the OKC Thunder will be hosts while the fourth contest will take place in Texas with the Mavericks playing host.

While fans shouldn’t expect Billy Donovan to give away all his system secrets preseason does offer an opportunity to iron out kinks. Likewise, there should be glimpses of who Billy D is contemplating for rotations and which players are still on the bubble.
In terms of star power, aside from fans getting their first look at Chris Paul in an OKC Thunder jersey it will also be our first time to get a look at youngster Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Danilo Gallinari and Mike Muscala.
As for the opposition, the two games versus the Mavericks will provide fans with the first viewing of Luka Doncic on the court with Kristaps Porzingis. The Grizzlies are clearly lottery bound again this season but add Ja Morant and Summer League MVP Brandon Clarke to the fold.
As mentioned, the full 2019-20 NBA schedule should be released early this month which we’ll pass along with key dates upon its release.
