The Interview:

This past weekend an interview Gallinari provided a local daily Italian paper served up some insights into his future. Specifically, the Italian spoke of his goals for his future as the 11-year vet prepares for the season and what will come next.

In an interview with the daily Italian newspaper, Il Foglio Danilo Gallinari served up insights regarding his future. The man who is referred to as ‘The Rooster’ is thinking long term as he enters the final season of his contract. Gallinari is contracted to earn $20,559,599 this season and will be entering the offseason as an unrestricted free agent.

In one single quote offered by Gallo there are several takeaways which will impact this season for the OKC Thunder.

First the quote:

"“Next summer, when I will become free agent, I will privilege a team that can fight for the NBA Finals. I won’t chase money, but the chance to play for the title. NBA taught me to be a more selfish player on the court but I have not really succeeded yet.”"

For a statement containing just three sentences, this one is loaded with copious takeaways which will affect the Thunder. The main question is how much of this is helpful and does this hurt the Thunder in any way?
