With the NBA offseason slowing to a crawl, let’s take a look back and grade every move the OKC Thunder made through the first week of August.

The OKC Thunder went through a drastic change this offseason, shipping away their two superstars including franchise icon Russell Westbrook. GM Sam Presti was put into a corner by star Paul George who reportedly requested a trade to the Los Angeles Clippers to team up with Kawhi Leonard. As a result of this, OKC’s franchise star was traded to the Houston Rockets after eleven seasons with the team.

OKC’s starting five is projected to include three to four different starters than their opening night lineup last season. Due to the massive overhaul and change in the roster, this offseason will be remembered among OKC Thunder fans for years to come.

The offseason began in earnest with the 2019 NBA draft with Sam Presti likely making decisions and moves which he might not have made given what occurred shortly thereafter. As for free agency, whether it’s acquiring a young talented guard in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, or former All-Star guard Chris Paul, there’s plenty to discuss including all the trades the Thunder made to this point. Therefore, with the offseason slowing to a crawl once August hit, it’s time to reflect back on the moves the Thunder have made to date.

Regardless, the OKC Thunder have ushered in a new era of the franchise as they embark on their quest to win their first title in Oklahoma City. Let’s take a look back at each deal made this offseason and how I feel about them.
