In closing:
Let’s be honest, after an unreal stretch of drafting between 2007-2013 (excluding 2012), Presti has had a very subpar and disappointing stretch of drafting in recent years.
Granted he’s been picking in the ’20s almost every year (where it’s very hard to hit on a pick) there is only one player that Presti drafted since 2014 that is on the team and that’s Terrance Ferguson, who was one of the worst starting players in the NBA last season.
With up to 15 first-round picks until 2026, Presti has plenty of opportunities to make up on his recent misses. Who knows, with better drafting maybe OKC doesn’t have to rely on Randy Foye, Semaj Christon, and Norris Cole for backup guard play ever since Reggie Jackson left.
While Presti is great in trades, he’s got to start hitting on draft picks again while OKC has all the draft capital in the world in order to build a contender for the future.
