Although all the focus will be on Anthony Davis returning to New Orleans equalling compelling will be when Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and Josh Hart return to the Staples Center on January 3.
Danny Green will collect his championship ring when the LA play the Raptors on March 24.
Jonas Valanciunas although not with the Raptors during the playoffs will collect a ring for the time spent with the team last season. Memphis play in Toronto on March 30.
Likewise, Delon Wright will also get a ring when Dallas plays in Toronto on December 22
Hassan Whiteside returns to Miami to play his former Heat squad on January 5.
J.J. Redick returns to Philly to face his former 76ers squad on December 13.
Derrick Favors returns to Utah to play his former Jazz club on November 23.
T.J. Warren returns to play the Suns on January 22.
Davis Bertans returns to play his former Spurs team on October 26.
There you have it — the most anticipated return dates of former players coming back to their original clubs this season. Clearly, Russell Westbrook will be the hottest ticket in OKC, but many will be excited to welcome Jerami Grant back to the Peake too. The jury remains out on how Paul George will be received and like I noted it won’t be surprising if it’s a mixed crowd reaction.
Mark these dates down in your calendar and keep an eye on the elite teams as some of their young assets could end up sporting an OKC Thunder jersey if Sam Presti elects to trade some of the expiring contracts, veteran players or package draft picks in order to continue the rebuild.
