Total Miles Traveled:

The Thunder falls in the middle of the pack as far as total miles traveled over the course of the season as per the tweet below. This is significant in terms of fatigue levels and recovery time in terms of allowing the body time to rest and be at peak performance.

Back to back games:

As per Shams Charania, the NBA continues their efforts to lower back to back games as well as decrease the five games in seven nights. The Thunder falls just above the league average with 13 back to back sets this season. Five of those feature both games on the road, two sets occur with both games in OKC and six are home and away sets.

Television restructuring:

Big changes were made this season to start games earlier in an effort to reach more fans after viewership fell off last season. It’s assumed LeBron James move to the west coupled with Lakers games being on so late contributed to the rating regression.

This season nationally televised games will start earlier as per the Shams Charania and Adrian Wojnarowski tweets above. The ESPN and TNT doubleheaders will feature 34 of their 67 games beginning at 7:30 and 10:00 which is a half hour earlier than the typical start time of 8:00 and 10:30 p.m. Additionally, 21 of the 37 Lakers and Warriors games wil have earlier start times this season.
