I’m of the opinion that the NBA is the most entertaining sports league in the world. This is due, in part, to the effort of all the members of our NBA family. Some play bigger roles than others, but each role has importance.
One of the more underappreciated members of this tight-knitted family, the outcast to some extent, are the NBA mascots. They often are disregarded, even while being a linchpin in the game today.
As a child, I remember being mildly entertained by their shenanigans before I got to watch another showcase of basketball brilliance. The two worked as perfectly together as a cold glass of water after having your favorite ice cream. It was like witnessing magic for basketball young fans.
Mascots do far more than supplement halftime shows. They all carry the torch for those who practice team loyalty. The NBA mascot will stick with its team through the most difficult times, unlike some fans.

This piece is dedicated to all the mascots who put the -fan in the word fandom. This list ranks the top NBA mascots by subjective and sometimes arbitrary appearance factors. Also, I will also take into account personality, ability, and signature moments. I promise I’m going to do my best not to objectify these lovely mascots.
Notably, the LA Lakers, Golden State Warriors, Brooklyn Nets, and New York Knicks all do not have mascots, so either convince them to step their mascot game up or don’t complain.
