No. 11: Portland Trail Blazers – Blaze the Trail Cat

The Portland Trail Blazers mascot Blaze gets points for having a wicked sweet mascot name. He loses some points for his distracting tail. Blaze has all the attributes of a cat. He loves high places, he plays with yarn, he even has an incredibly short attention span. In truth Blaze the Trail Cat is a mountain lion as per Fandom.  The Blazers adopted Blaze in 2002.

Watching Blaze perform the deft defying leaps high above the basket nearly gave me a feeling of vertigo – impressive to say the least!

His high flying routine makes Portland fans pray that he does have nine lives. Performing stunts like this one give credence to the idea that he is the best cat mascot in the NBA. It makes sense he can do this high risks dunks because cats always land on their feet.
