No. 20: Miami Heat – Burnie (the Plasma)

Quick question for all you readers. If someone told you they discovered the first anthropomorphic plasma, what do you think it would look like? Most likely, whatever you pictured in your mind, probably would look far cooler than Burnie.

The obligatory joke here is the Miami Heat are on fire and this Plasma will let it burn! Sadly this sentiment falls flatter than his failed world record attempt did.

Perhaps he deserves the benefit of the doubt because it’s probably hard out here for a plasma. His nose is also problematic to me. Seriously though, is that a basketball surgically implanted on his face.

I guess ball IS life.

As for a great trivia question on Burnie – the Heat mascot was sued for $1 million dollars and the Heat was ordered to pay $50,000. The reason? Burnie pulled a fan from the crowd to dance at an exhibition game in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Turned out the lady was the wife of a judge and not amused. She fell trying to avoid going on the court and in her lawsuit claimed injuries and emotional distress. In this case, being a mascot was NOT all fun and games.
