OKC Thunder guard Chris Paul jumps in goal to face FC Barcelona forward Griezmann

OKC Thunder point guard Chris Paul and his son spent time with the FC Barcelona squad fulfilling their own sports fantasy as CP3 jumped in goal to face Griezmann.

Proving the point that even sports superstars are fans of others the newly acquired OKC Thunder point guard Chris Paul sure has been active this summer. Between coaching at The Basketball Tournament, spending time at WNBA All-Star Game, and hitting the court with other young NBA players. The latter includes spending time with his likely backcourt starting teammate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. All that and he’s also been active on social media especially engaging in banter with youngsters SGA and rookie Darius Bazley.

On the menu today? Spending time with his son Chris Junior with one of their favorite passions. Football (or soccer for those in North America). Specifically, Chris senior and junior met up with FC Barcelona. Little Chris is shown sporting a Messi jersey who is likely the youngsters favorite player (hey, he’s a lot of people’s favorite footballer).


Lionel (“Leo”) Messi also plays for his Argentinian National team and became famous early in his life when at 13 years old he moved to Spain after FC Barcelona brought him into their organization.

As per Paul’s social media account, you can see CP3 even got in the net to play goaltender and take on the FC Barcelona snipers. Little Chris threw some shade at his Dad in the clip posted on Chris Paul’s twitter account.

It’s funny to see the interaction between father and son as the youngster interacted with his Dad much like we’ve seen Paul joke around with teammates.

If you watch the full clip you can see Paul take on Frenchman and forward for Barcelona – Antoine Griezmann. Doubtful he’d be quite as keen to face Messi, but hey – give him credit for facing any of those snipers. Besides CP3 is probably better suited at setting up the pass.
