Deonte Burton

A favorite among fans, Deonte Burton is an athletic freak.

With the body of Marcus Smart but the athleticism of Larry Nance, it’s easy to see why fans and local media are excited about his future.

Coming over to the Thunder from Korea (where he won the league MVP) Burton had his fair share of struggles, but he was never put in a position to succeed by head coach Billy Donovan as he was receiving an inconsistent number of minutes. Burton would rest for five games and then play double-digit minutes the next.

Despite everything against him, Burton shined the brightest in a very important divisional game versus the Portland Trail Blazers.

After being inactive for 26 out of the past 29 games, Burton was an offensive force coming off the bench in a career-high 26 minutes.

While Burton’s game might have been overshadowed by Russell Westbrook and Paul George’s triple-doubles, he was one of the key reasons OKC pulled out the victory.
