B+. . PG. Oklahoma City Thunder. DENNIS SCHRODER

A difficult performance to judge because his shooting was highly efficient and effective (5-6 FGs, 1 of 1 from deep, and 2 of 2 from the stripe).  Dennis Schroder also grabbed six rebounds and dished five assists.  Yet it felt like he still forces the issue or calls his own number too much despite the shot attempts saying otherwise.

Perhaps it’s his style which always seems to be in a panic mode often ending with him crashing to the ground. Alternatively, that aggression is likely also what makes him so effective. I’d still rather he came off the bench and on nights when his shot is falling increase his playing time.

For the Thunder to do what they’ve pledged, which is to be competitive the bench will need to excel this season and there is potential for that. But only if Schroder embraces the challenge of driving the pace, keeping the motion fluid and instilling confidence into the young reserves.
