Hami-Time:

Hamidou Diallo was another standout coming off the bench to score 16 points and grab six rebounds. He looked more at ease in this game than the last outing.  The unit featuring Diallo,  TFerg, Schroder, and Burton seems to have developed a nice chemistry.

They were on the court at the end of the first quarter when Hami scored six points in just over a two-minute window. Diallo continued his scoring barrage to start the second with a driving dunk to put OKC up 31-15.

Swiss Army Knife:

Deonte Burton seemingly does something every game to make me smile and this contest was no exception. Although his Euro step bucket was pretty a more impressive play was a rebound he got in traffic. Burton first ran his man off the line then as the ball hit the rim while holding off his opponent with one arm tapped the ball upward and one hand rebounded it prior to initiating the break and throwing a nifty pass on the move (6:26 of the second quarter).

I can’t take my eyes off him when he’s on the court because he is constantly doing something to help his team whether it be blocking out opponents so his teammate gets the rebound, whipping the ball to keep the motion offense moving or any number of little things that never show up on the box score. Fans constantly cite their guilty pleasure League Pass team, well Deonte Burton is my guilty pleasure OKC Thunder player.
