OKC Thunder vs. Chicago Bulls, 2019-20 team preview
The Bulls backs were against the wall right from season start when a hampered elbow knocked talented sophomore Lauri Markkanen out of the first 23 games. This was just the first of many injuries the Bulls would navigate throughout the campaign.
With a squad full of copious young stars the lack of veteran players or depth to counter the losses set the menu for the summer. Given those parameters, the Bulls added veteran Thaddeus Young to partner with trade deadline addition Otto Porter Jr. Although the Bulls are still predominantly young having OPJ to council the wings and Young to mentor the frontcourt players will help with the development and growth of the young core.
To that end, after years of searching for the next Derrick Rose to captain the team, the Bulls feel confident they’ve found the future in Coby White.
Whether they’ll contend for a bottom seed is yet to be discovered, but if nothing else this team should be on your NBA League Pass list as a must watch.
