While many teams in the Western Conference made sweeping changes or added big-time stars the Denver Nuggets remained relatively unchanged. That said, arguably one of the most underrated moves made this summer was the Nuggets trade for Jerami Grant which gives them versatility in the frontcourt. Moreover, Grant is a player who can play several different positions and defend virtually any opposing player regardless of position.
Most changes to the Nuggets were minor in nature as the franchise elected to run back the core and perhaps the biggest move made this summer was Denver opting into the final season of Paul Millsap‘s $30.5 million deal.
Following their recent pattern of taking risks in the draft, the Nuggets drafted Manut Bol’s son Bol Bol with the 44th pick. The Nuggets have nothing to lose if Bol doesn’t prove to be NBA ready and if he does then it was a worthwhile risk.
To that end, the other change to the roster comes courtesy of the previous draft with Michael Porter Jr. finally ready to play after redshirting his rookie season due to injury.
