Arguably the biggest shift for the Wolves was employing a new Team President as Gersson Rosas (formerly of the Rockets). Rosas presumably is an advocate of analytics given the time he spent with Daryl Morey in Houston.
He arrived in May and elected to take a more patient approach this offseason. Perhaps ownership wants to give Saunders a shot to get the assets in hand all on the same page but if the team stumbles out of the gate don’t be surprised if the Wolves begin a fire sale (outside Towns and Okogie) prior to the deadline.
As it was Rosas made smaller moves this offseason. His first actions were draft night trade with the Suns for Jarrett Culver which cost the Wolves Dario Saric (one day this kid will land in San Antonio to play for Pops as he was always meant to).
Four free agents were signed but all for supplementary players. Likewise, the team also picked up Shabazz Napier and Treveon Graham in a trade with the Warriors as well as Jake Layman from the Blazers.
On the opposite side of the equation, several players exited in free agency including Derrick Rose, Tyus Jones, Taj Gibson, and Anthony Tolliver.
