Deonte’ Burton finally breaks out
I don’t think I’ve written about it for TI yet, but I reaaaaaaaaallllllly like Deonte’ Burton for this OKC team.

Maybe it’s because his absurd versatility opens up a lot of different things for the Thunder, maybe it’s because it’s human nature to root for the underdog, or maybe it’s just because he seems like a genuinely good dude.
But either way, there’s something about him on this Oklahoma City team that I vibe with a lot. And this preseason was the first time he started to make a real impact on the court.
In the roughly 20 minutes a game he averaged, he scored around five points, grabbed three boards, and dished out almost one assist, while keeping his turnovers and missed shots down, and playing solid defense.
He wasn’t jaw-dropping, but he absolutely played well enough to warrant a longer look during the regular season.
If he keeps playing the way he did, don’t be surprised if he ends up in the regular rotation by the end of the year – a huge feat for a 25-year-old undrafted wing.
