Game Management

When a player has earned the title of the Floor General, he will certainly have the ability to manage a game, better than most other players in the league. Well, Paul is one of the best floor generals of the era. One of his nicknames is Point God which certainly says he is good at his position.

The OKC Thunder have been competitive this season in almost every game as the results show. However, what the results don’t show is how the team got there. Paul has been essential in orchestrating the comebacks in the fourth quarter.

It is not just in his passing and court management which is helping here. Paul has mastered the rip through move, which he seems to be able to pull out at the right moment to help the team.

When the OKC Thunder have struggled offensively during some games, Paul is able to get to the line by recognizing opposition teams are in the bonus. This gives the Thunder the opportunity for two easy points. It also allows the team to talk to Coach Billy Donovan or even get a rest.

Paul is also good at recognizing when the game needs to speed up or slow down. He changes the tempo to make the opposition uncomfortable and allows the OKC Thunder to get back into games.
