In the third game they played together, Luguentz Dort has outperformed Devon Hall and deserves to be called up to the OKC Thunder.
The OKC Thunder have a chance to reap the benefits of the hot start by Luguentz Dort in the G-League this season. Dort has played in all six of the OKC Blue’s games and has been a sensation.
He has two games where he has scored over 30 points, including the most recent game against the Texas Legends. Dort had 32 points on 10-of 14 shooting and did everything in his power to get the Blue back into the game.
The 20 -year old rookie also had four rebounds, three assists, and a block. He shot the ball well from the field going 10-of-14 from the floor. The only shots he missed were from deep where he went 1-of-5.
He was aggressive on offense, getting to the line on seven occasions and did not miss a free throw. On the season Dort is averaging 20.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.2 assists. The only knock on Dort’s game is that he is only shooting 30.5 percent from deep and yet he is still shooting 50.6 percent from the field.

Devon Hall, on the other hand, has been sitting on the end of the OKC Thunder’s bench for most of the season. He has seen seven minutes of action, in the blowout loss to the Indiana Pacers. Hall scored a solitary bucket at that time for two points.
He has played three games for the Blue and has not impressed the same way Dort has. He is averaging 8.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.3 assists.
Hall’s shooting is simply horrible, evidenced by his 5-of-24 from the floor, good for 20.8 percent.
His 3-point shooting is saving him as he’s shot 4-of-13, which is good for 30.8 percent.
Hall is meant to be the better 3-point shooter than Dort but they are shooting such similar numbers, other factors must be taken into consideration.
Dort makes things happen, he is similar to Deonte Burton in that way. His activity would be welcome in the varsity squad and he would only benefit from the tutelage of Chris Paul.
Now is the time to see what the OKC Thunder have in two-way player Luguentz Dort.
