In week four of the NBA power ranking, the OKC Thunder finds themselves in the middle of the pack while there were significant shuffles among the other 29 squads.

Week four witnessed teams with early struggles breaking out of their slumps to register clean sweeps against their opponents and subsequently experienced jumps up the ladder.

Still, others experienced winless weeks like the Spurs who are mired in finding a way out of their early struggles.

In all, four teams went winless in week four while five teams were unbeaten which affected the order on the ladder and subsequently resulted in a new team at the top.

With that here is week four power ranking stating with the 30th ranked team…

Golden State Warriors

Offense: (105.3) – 22nd
Defense: (115.6) –  30th
Net: (minus -10.4 ) – 30th

Record: 2-12
Games Week 4: (0-4) ost to Jazz, Lakers, Celtics, Pelicans
Games Week 5 (3 games): Tues, Nov. 19 at Grizzlies | Wed, Nov. 20 at Mavericks | Fri, Nov. 22 at Jazz

Little doubt Joe Lacob or the Warriors brain trust expected to be sitting atop the Western Conference this season. After all, Kevin Durant exited in free agency, Klay Thompson was expected to miss all or most of the season and the two players who typically didn’t receive as much credit as they were due (Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston) were traded and retired respectively.

Still, it’s also likely the Warriors didn’t expect to be sitting in the basement at this point in the season either. It’s such an abrupt shift from powerful dominance to utter struggle if we didn’t know any better we’d believe this was all being orchestrated to capture the top draft pick this June and then use a quartet of healthy Stephen Curry, Klay, Draymond Green and rookie to lure yet another star to the new Chase Center.

Hmmmm— then again, maybe there is something to that diagnosis.

One thing is certain, ranking last in both defense and net differential firmly plants this Warriors squad dead last on the ladder with no immediate relief in sight.
