Although the Pelicans may not live up the playoff hopes some projected for the club their future is bright based on the savvy moves made by David Griffin. That said, it feels like Griffin made a huge mistake not locking down Brandon Ingram‘s extension and it could cost the Pelicans this summer especially with so few quality free agents available.

Ingram missed the four games this week which makes their 2-2 record all the more impressive. Through his nine games this season he’s averaging 25.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.9 assists. In addition, he’s shooting 5.4 triples per game with an efficiency of 46.9 percent.

Other standouts beyond the obvious (Holiday/Ingram) are Canadian Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Frank Jackson. Alexander-Walker picked up the slack with the absence of so many players this week averaging 12.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists and shot 44.4 percent from deep on 6.3 attempts per game.
