OKC Thunder: NBA Draft stock up, stock down report 3.0 –
By Rylan Stiles
Stock up, Quentin Grimes, G, Houston
After a failed freshman season that left himself, Bill Self, and almost every Jayhawk fan frustrated, the former five star returned home to play for the Houston Cougars. The Jayhawks were fully on board for his immediate eligibility, and it’s a good thing they were because Grimes has finally started to look like that five-star form he once had.

In four games, Grimes has posted 15 points per game, four rebounds, three assists, and almost a steal per contest. The Cougars have taken Grimes out of the shooting guard role Self forced him into for Kansas and placed him back to his natural point guard position. It has led to an uptick in turnovers but that comes with more playmaking opportunities.
I ranked Grimes 53 coming into the season, but he is quickly climbing up the second round ranks.
This week against Rice University, Grimes had a career game. The Cougar guard went for 32 points nine rebounds and five assists. Grimes went 4-for-6 from deep and shot over 60 percent from deep. The young guard could not be stopped.
Grimes and the Houston Cougars will not be headlining any feast week tournaments this week. The next time he takes on a power-five opponent comes when we flip the calendar to December as he meets with South Carolina on Dec. 8th.
So sit back, relax, enjoy your holiday week and take in some college basketball. I will have my attention turned to Maui for the Maui Invitational that features the Kansas Jayhawks, Georgia Bulldogs, Michigan State Spartans, and UCLA Bruins just to name a few. That tournament is littered with draft prospects.
