The OKC Thunder complete the home and home set vs the New Orleans Pelicans seeking consecutive wins and their second road win of season. Gameday previews the match.
The OKC Thunder play their second consecutive game against the Pelicans in New Orleans to complete the home and home set. In the third meeting between the teams, this is the first one in the Big Easy.
In a quirk of the fixture, this is also the second straight month where the Thunder play the Pelicans in the first game of the month. They opened November against each other in the Darius Bazley 17 point coming out party. It was a win for the Thunder too.
In the previous game on Friday to close out the month, it was a see-saw affair. Steven Adams opened the game with a ten point outburst to give the Thunder a lead they would hold until the third quarter. I think Erik Horne summed it up best.
However, for the second straight game, Abdel Nader came up big off the bench, doing some good work with Dennis Schroder and Nerlens Noel. Nader’s 19 points were the second-highest total for the Thunder for the night, behind only Schroder.
For the Pelicans, Brandon Ingram was tough to stop. Despite shooting over 42 percent from 3-point land this year, the Thunder did a great job running him off the line, going 2-of-5 from deep. He still scored 26 points and is going to be a hard match-up again in this game.
Hopefully, the Thunder have learned a lot from the last home game so they can take it onto the Pelicans home court and execute for a second road win on the season.
