Inexperience is a blessing and a curse. On one hand, a team lacking experience functions with nothing to lose but on the other when it’s time to finish off the opposing team, the intensity of the situation highlights the lack of experience and naturally, players get tight.

Memphis won all the major categories against the Lakers and while youngster Ja Morant has demonstrated his ability to rise to the occasion in this instance it was a bit more unnerving given Morant and his young teammates were facing the King- – LeBron James and his superstar partner Anthony Davis.

We’ve witnessed the OKC Thunder struggle to win in clutch time and they boast veterans who’ve won in these circumstances. So, while many of the young squads have yet to successfully master clutch time the Grizzlies are ahead of the game. The fact they couldn’t pull it off when facing two of the top five talents in the NBA shouldn’t diminish the fact they’ve done it with other elite clubs.
