142. . 6-12. Previous: 22nd. Washington Wizards. 22. team

Offense: (112.1) – 4th
Defense: (115.7) –  30th
Net: (minus -3.6) –  21st

Games Week 6: (1-3) Win vs.Suns, lost to Nuggets, Lakers, Clippers
Games Week 7: (4 games): Tues, Dec. 3 vs. Magic | Thurs, Dec. 5 vs. 76ers | Fri, Dec. 6 at Heat | Sun, Dec 8 vs. Clippers

As the Wizards took to the road having played the fewest games in the league fans began to witness something more in line with what pundits expected this season.

Certainly, their offense is above par but after weeks of hearing from Bradley Beal and company the Wizards were intent on raising their defensive effort the reality was revealed. Those are ‘nice words’ but that’s all they are – words.

The fact is the Wizards rank dead last in defense as well as opponent points per game (122.7) and opponent field goal percent (49.3 percent).

With more top end teams on the horizon and a quicker succession of games I’d be willing to bet in a few weeks one of two things will happen – either the fourth ranked offense which fell two spots this week will dip even lower or Washington will give up all pretense of defending and rank last in virtually every defensive category.

In truth, the only thing their opponents are likely concerned about is if they’ll open up trade talks for the recently re-inked Beal, or big men sharp shooters Davis Bertans and Moritz Wagner.
