Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr., and company may be the first NBA players on vacation come Spring but the signs for the future are bright.

Generally, young squads struggle to get over the hump of winning close games or beating the elite competition.  Look no further than how many times the OKC Thunder with several vets used to winning has struggled to close out games. Or the Grizzlies other counterparts like the Hawks and Kings who’ve already taken a step up the ladder but are likely a little envious at the statement wins and experienced clutch time victories this iteration of the Grizzlies has amassed.

But the young replacements for Mike Conley and Marc Gasol were well chosen as both are driven to succeed and with Dillon Brooks the Grizzlies boast a young trio committed to learning, growing and eventually excelling.

The fact they’ll also garner another high draft pick should bode well for the repositioning of this franchise.
