125. . 6-17. Previous: 30th. Atlanta Hawks. 29. team

Offense: (105.4)  24th
Defense: (113.8)  26th
Net: (minus -8.4) 27th

Games Week 7: ( 2-1 ) Won vs. Warriors, Hornets lost to Nets
Games Week 8 (4 games): Tues. at Heat | Weds. at Bulls | Fri. vs. Pacers | Sun vs. Lakers

The Hawks finally ended the losing streak by defeating the other bottom dweller the Golden State Warriors and did it with panache.

Despite the massive point differential from the victory over Golden State it only moved the Hawks a few spots up the defensive ladder. Hey, when a team regularly coughs up 20 to 49 point differentials in losses it’s going to take a long time to purge that reality.

The good news: in two weeks John Collins will return and provide some semblance of a frontcourt presence.

Factor in the issues the Hawks have on the boards, particularly the offensive glass and Collins’ return grows in its necessity. With league viewing down surely the NBA can’t be happy about multiple teams losing by 40 to 50 points repeatedly.

For as much as the winning opponent fanbase loves the annihilation, it’s simply not good for the sport even with Trae Young hinting there is still more to be revealed.
