The OKC Thunder will look to build their streak to five wins in a row as they face the Cleveland Cavaliers. Gameday breaks it down.

The OKC Thunder have got the San Antonio Spurs monkey off their back and now head out East for the second game of their road trip. They take on the Cleveland Cavaliers in what can only be described as a potential danger game.

The Cavaliers sit third last in the Eastern Conference with a 10-23 record. They have a core of good young talent but their roster is not going to make much noise, even in the East, for a fairly long time.

The OKC Thunder, on the other hand, was expected to be a cellar dwelling team but after accumulating the best record in the Western Conference for December, they are a genuine playoff threat.

Chris Paul is the best clutch player in the NBA this season, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is top ten in this category as well. Moreover, the Thunder also have the best clutch defense in the NBA this season and the Coach of the Month for December in Billy Donovan.

His opposing coach, John Beilein, whose focus this year was on the fundamentals is starting to face scrutiny on his play calling which has increased pressure on his job security. The situation didn’t get better when the Cavaliers traded away Jordan Clarkson who was the most productive bench player for the team.

With that being said, the Cavaliers have some good strengths as they are still a professional basketball team. This brings us to the keys of the game.
