Possible reasons Gallinari may not stay

It would be remiss of me not to cite that Gallinari may not stay. The curse of the mid-market team is that it is difficult to keep stars. In saying that, they have retained some stars over the years.

If Gallinari’s only goal is a championship then he may view this team will not get him over the line. Chris Paul is aging, not that you can tell from his play right now, but Gallinari may think that he will slow down in the next season or two.

Gallinari may want to go to a contender such as the Miami Heat, Denver Nuggets or back into Los Angeles to play for either franchise. He could even go to the Dallas Mavericks and that would make them almost un-guardable. He may need to play more center but to contend, Gallinari would sacrifice part of his game.

He could see that this is the way towards competing for a ring every season. Being honest, Gallinari has toiled away on mid to low level teams his whole career. It is time for him to be on a contender now.

Gallinari would most probably have to take a pay cut to make his way on to a win-now contender but if it meant winning a ring, there is a good chance he would do it.
