San Antonio Spurs:

Offense: (110.8)  10th
Defense: (111.6) 23rd
Net: (minus -0.8) 15th

Games Week 13 (1-2): Won vs. Heat: 107-102, Lost vs. Heat: 100-106, Hawks: 120-121
Games Week 14 (4 games): Mon at Suns | Weds at Pelicans | Fri vs. Suns | Sun vs. Raptors

Just when it looked like the Spurs were getting back in the mix having taken down three of the top East’s seeds (Bucks, Raptors, Celtics) they suffered a losing week allowing the upstart Memphis Grizzlies to overtake them for the eighth seed.

Inexplicably, the Spurs can beat the elite teams but continues to lose to sub .500 clubs. The loss this week to the Hawks was their second this season against Atlanta.

Of their 23 losses, 11 are against these lower tier clubs. San Antonio has a culture and part of that included beating the teams they should but their record is 11-11 against sub .500 clubs.

Another common trait of the previous 20 plus seasons is winning on the road but they’ve struggled on the road this season with a 6-13 record away from home.

This week serves up another test as the teams with them in the chase pack represent three of the four matches along with the Raptors (healthy roster) who’ll be seeking revenge for that one point loss in the 6ix.
