Hello Ja! This kid is making the Grizzlies must watch TV and if you have NBA League Pass I highly recommend catching as many of the Memphis games as possible.
It was almost disappointing the Grizzlies only played twice this week thus is the brilliance of the young Morant.
In particular, his ability to process the situation in a split second to change what was going to be a dunk and turn it into a jaw-dropping assist is unbelievable. While Luka Doncic is also must watch I have to say Ja Morant is the type of generational player who has that extra panache and competitiveness that pulls you in.
He likely won’t make the All-Star team — but he’s played well enough to warrant it!
As for the effect he’s having on teammates Jaren Jackson Jr., Dillon Brooks, Brandon Clarke, and Jonas Valanciunas are all feeding off their fearless point guard. The result – sweeping the week with two wins which extend their streak to seven in a row.
That Zion Williamson won’t suit up until Wednesday is a tad disappointing as the Pelicans are in town to start week 14. Fans won’t have to wait long for that showdown though as the teams will finish the month facing each other (January 31st).
Through the last 10 games, the Grizzlies boast the third-best offense and have an improved 11th ranked defense over the same timeframe.
While everyone is focused on the Utah Jazz rise – the Grizzlies are arguably the bigger story because unlike Utah, Memphis is defeating top-ranked teams during their winning streak.
Another week to prove this isn’t a quick hot streak to be followed by another lottery bound losing streak and these Grizzlies will find themselves in my top 10!
