Atlanta Hawks:

Offense: (104.5) 29th
Defense: (113.3) tied 28h
Net: (minus -8.8) 29th

Results Week 14: (2-2) Won vs. Clippers: 102-95, Wizards: 152-133, Lost vs. Raptors: 117-122, Thunder: 111-140
Games Week 15: (3 games) Tues at Raptors | Thurs vs. 76ers | Sat at Mavericks

The Hawks put together solid efforts early in week 14 attempting to come back on the road-weary Raptors who traveled all over (OKC-Toronto-Minnesota-Atlanta) and were playing their third game at 2:30 p.m. on the fourth day. Atlanta almost capitalized on the situation but fell just short versus the champs.

They brought the same effort in the match versus the Clippers who were without Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. This time it resulted in victory. The more relevant fact in this victory was Trae Young wasn’t in the lineup for the Hawks so this win is something the young Hawks can build upon.

John Collins delivered a massive double-double of 33 points and 16 rebounds in the winning effort while Brandon Goodwin had a star-making turn with 19 points which might have coach Lloyd Pierce looking to increase his playing time moving forward.

Despite ranking dead last in the East, Trae Young was voted in as a starter for his first All-Star Game appearance. If you don’t think these things matter to the players the video above proves otherwise.

By week’s end, the Hawks showcased why they are the worst in the East with an old fashioned beat down courtesy of the OKC Thunder. Then they turned around and put on an offensive show with the Wizards.

Trae Young who was Kobe Bryant’s daughter Gigi’s favorite NBA player began the game wearing number “8” jersey and like the other teams competing Sunday followed the lead of the Raptors – Spurs by letting the 24-second shot clock run out in homage to Bryant.

Young also took 24 shots and scored 45 points with 14 assists in the winning effort. The last player to register that type of efficiency in reaching those totals versus the Wizards was Kobe Bryant!
