OKC Thunder: What a week for the OKC Blue

The OKC Thunder affiliate the OKC Blue had a week for the books, even though they only went 1-1.

The OKC Blue have gone 4-1 in the last two weeks. This is despite Luguentz Dort and others being called up to the OKC Thunder thanks to their injury issues. The Blue went 1-1 in the last week despite some amazing performances.

The first game of the week was against the Austin Spurs, a team that took advantage of the Blue injury issues earlier in the season. This time the Blue proved too strong for the fourth place Spurs 125-116.

This was the night that Abdul Gaddy broke the all-time assist record for the OKC Thunder. It was his second straight 20 point, double-double with 23 points and ten assists. Kevin Hervey also had a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds.

DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell had a huge 33 point effort to go along with eight rebounds. Devon Hall had 23 points, five rebounds and four assists in another solid game. Vincent Edwards was also strong in his role as a starter with 14 points and Markel Brown delivered a quality effort with ten points, five rebounds and five assists.

In the second game of the week against the Texas Legends Gaddy was again huge. He set a G-League season-high 20 assists which were not enough to get the Blue over the line, losing 144-140.

To go along with these 20 assists, Gaddy had 12 points but was inefficient from the field for the first time in recent memory. He still managed to collect a 12 point, 20 assists double-double. Akoon-Purcell had a season-high 38 points off the bench.

Kadeem Jack scored an extremely efficient 22 points on 9-of-11 shooting. Brown started at shooting guard scoring 21 points in 27 minutes. Barefield scored 14 points off the bench, Hervey had 13 points and Edwards had 10 points in a game where seven of the nine players who hit the court scored in double figures.
