A full week of Zion Williamson and at least one impressive win (Grizzlies). The youngster is still navigating his way through figuring out his fit within the team but there are glimpses of “special” n every game he’s played. Although the Pelicans lost to the Rockets, Williamson collected his second double-double of his young career.

Alvin Gentry was unhappy his crew failed to involve the youngster late in the match but put the onus on himself to correct that issue.

Moving forward, there is much to like about this Pelicans crew and while it feels like it’s too late for them to challenge for that eighth seed their future is extremely bright.

This week will be interesting as to whether David Griffin elects to shop JJ Redick (or Jrue Holiday) in an effort to bolster the draft coffers, stands pat or seeks to add another piece to give the Pelicans a better opportunity to succeed in their playoff bid.

And for as much as leaving Beal and Booker off the All-Star teams perhaps this is a contradictory statement but Ingram is a leading candidate for most improved and IS AFFECTING winning so it was great to see his inclusion on the squad.
