Of all the teams toiling in the bottom tier the one club who is hard to point fingers at is the Hornets. I had them finishing dead last in the Association coming into the season or bottom three. The fact they’ve been better than that lowly rank perhaps should be cited as a positive.

Especially since there are youngsters on the club who’ve demonstrated there are valid pieces of the core already on site. That’s more than a few of those bottom feeders can say.

Early on Mitch Kupchak has made a few solid additions. P.J. Washington specifically stands out as a player who fits in perfectly and checks a lot of boxes. The one miss is the overpay for Terry Rozier who still feels like he should be in a Spencer Dinwiddie role (i.e. coming off the bench).

It will be interesting to see what moves Kupchak makes as a few of those old overpaid contracts come off the books.
