The OKC Thunder only had Chris Paul in the All-Star game and everything he did represented what it means to be an All-Star in this league.

Chris Paul represented the OKC Thunder with style and pride at the All-Star game. He actually embodied everything that it means to be an All-Star in this league. When he was announced as an All-Star, Phoenix Suns fans were not happy because their man Devin Booker had been overlooked.

Now, after the game, there can be no doubt that Paul deserved to be there. OKC Thunder fans knew that Paul was a walk-up start thanks to the season he has had. Now it is out there for the entire league to see, the career renaissance is a real thing.

Paul was dialed in, when he got on the court late in the first period he hit his first three 3-point attempts. He created for others and just made the court a fun place to watch. He even had the hops to get up and dunk, something he has not done in a game for about four years.

The dunk made my OKC Thunder heart beat a little faster. Russell Westbrook threw the pass and Paul threw it down two-handed … at the age of 35. This man clearly wanted to represent on so many levels.

More from Thunder News

Paul scored 23 points on 8-of-13 shooting, including 7-of-11 from deep. He also had six assists and two rebounds and had to be in the conversation for MVP. The Thunder floor general played the game with a heavy heart.

Chris Paul was thinking about NBA legend Kobe Bryant with who he had a strong personal relationship with. Out of respect for his memory, Paul wanted to compete because that was what Bryant did best. It is safe to say that Paul accomplished this goal.

Paul was the brainchild of the new format which shows the level of respect to Bryant. This shows he is a thinker both on and off the court. There is a good chance the NBA will keep the format as a level of respect from the champion who was taken too soon from us.

After being cautious about accepting Paul at the start of the season, I am all in on him, his character and his play.
