Best OKC Thunder Reserve:
More from Thunderous Intentions
- Stealing one player from every Southwest Division team for the OKC Thunder
- Should the OKC Thunder chase after a disgruntled hometown hero?
- 3 OKC Thunder players who can step up in Aleksej Pokusevski’s absence
- Aleksej Pokusevski sidelined approximately 6 weeks with ankle injury
- Damian Lillard does not fit with the OKC Thunder
Given how involved Dennis Schroder was in the final segment of the game and the huge charge he drew to help cement the win this grade will seem extremely low.
Then again, go back and watch the game to discover who was on the court when the Bulls built all their momentum and got back in the match.
Everyone is responsible for that issue, but Schroder has the ability on both sides of the court to ensure things like that don’t happen. When he entered the game at the halfway mark of the third the Thunder was still leading by 15 points (82-67). Cut to the end of the quarter and the Bulls had taken the lead.
The situation was so bad Billy Donovan had to pull out Nerlens Noel (who had a terrible night) and reinsert Adams.
Again, it’s not all on Schroder and Noel but as vets on the team, this is an area they can look to improve moving forward.
Best Opponent:
With a hat tip to the rookie Coby White, the award for the opposing best player goes to Zach LaVine who did everything to pull his team back from the early deficit.
Unfortunately, it was also LaVine who committed the charge and couldn’t hit the final shot but that’s his role on this squad. He’s either the hero or the goat.
Still, his no quit compete level was on full display and is having an obvious effect on his rookie as the pair were essential to the Bulls comeback effort
