Former OKC Thunder superstar Kevin Durant among the four Brooklyn Nets who tested positive for the coronavirus.

In terms of the OKC Thunder, we’re still operating under the no news is good news scenario regarding test results. A week ago today, the game between the Utah Jazz and OKC Thunder was postponed and within hours the NBA announced the season was suspended.

Initially, the players were checked for fever on Wednesday evening and then sent home. On Thursday the team was tested for COVID-19 and whether they had contracted the coronavirus. Again, to date no news has been provided so we’re operating under the assumption no one tested positive.

More from Thunderous Intentions

Likewise, the team who played the Jazz last (the Toronto Raptors) all got back negative results. Yesterday (Tuesday) ESPN advised four players on the Brooklyn Nets to have tested positive. Today (Wednesday, March 18) Adrian Wojnarowski confirmed via an ESPN article former OKC Thunder star Kevin Durant is one of those players.

That’s the most of one team and is cumulatively more than the previous three players – Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell of the Jazz and Christian Wood of the Pistons.

Durant is asymptomatic but will self-quarantine as per all NBA players.

Sara Nathan of Page Six notes Raptors brand ambassador Drake partied with Drake just a few days ago. The rapper is also self-quarantined in one of his homes in Toronto.

"The pals hung out at West Hollywood hotspot Nice Guy eight days ago, with Drake posting a photo of their night out."

In the release by the Brooklyn Nets, they didn’t name any of the other trio of players who tested positive but noted only one is showing symptoms while KD and two others are both asymptomatic.

Something noteworthy in this news is Brooklyn had not played either of the Jazz or Pistons in the prior 14 days to the suspension which could mean a ref who was exposed may have officiated one of their games or this was an entirely separate incident. What it does show is how easily anyone can come into contact with the virus and how important it is to practice safe distancing and self-isolate.

Also of note, the Lakers who played the Nets on Tuesday of last week announced the team will all be tested now given this recent news.
