OKC Thunder: Abdel Nader season highlight features Boston block party
With the NBA season suspended Thunderous Intentions serves up the top three games for each OKC Thunder player. Abdel Nader is next up on the list.
OKC Thunder forward Abdel Nader is fast, zestful and always willing to take the basketball and create his own play.
It seems OKC has always had an affinity for nimble and athletic players and Nader is one of them.
As a reserve for the Thunder this season he is averaging 15.8 minutes per game which is the most of his NBA career. He has also achieved career-highs in points (6.0), assists (0.7), field goal (45.5), 3-point (37.1) and free throw percentage. (77.4)
He’s always had a lethal jumper with the ability to also dunk the ball and with the high-tempo, ball movement system that OKC runs, he is able to put that on full-display.
Some of Nader’s top games so far have come in big scoring matches and in a block party he provided in his old home arena in Boston.
One of those games was on November 27th against the Portland Trail Blazers. The third year player led all Thunder scorers and spent 17 minutes on the floor – most of which was late in the fourth quarter.
But you wonder if he had been on the court earlier, maybe he could’ve helped the team turn things around as they lost 136-119.
Despite the loss, Nader had arguably his best game of the year. He recorded 23 points, two rebounds, shot seven of nine from the field including a trio of 3-pointers and 100% from the charity stripe.
Even when the game looked like it was over, Nader kept on pushing and finished with 19 points in the last quarter. Click here to watch his highlights from the match.
Two days later, he backed up this performance against the Pelicans with another stellar effort.
