With the NBA season suspended Thunderous Intentions serves up the top three games for each OKC Thunder player. Hamidou Diallo is next up on the list.

OKC Thunder’s athletic youngster Hamidou Diallo plays with pure finesse and explosiveness. When he steps onto the court you know he’s going to put on a show.

It’s that exuberance and bounce that gets you excited, with jaw-dropping plays that you just wonder how does he do it. Just like this one.

In his second year in the NBA, Diallo has seen an increase in game time but maybe not as much as expected coming into the season due to injury.

After recovering from an elbow injury, Diallo has slowly slid back into the Thunder rotation and from January is averaging 16.04 minutes per game.

His best months in action this season was October where he was putting up 9.6 points and November when he was recording 8.1 points a night. Currently, he is averaging 6.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, 0.6 assists, and 0.7 steals.

With so much depth on the OKC Thunder especially with the young players, there are so many options when it comes to bringing energy and Diallo continues to show that.

Here are Diallo’s top three games so far.

Diallo shines bright in home city New York:

Hami was definitely ready to put on an epic display against his hometown New York Knicks, at Madison Square Garden on March 6th.

He came out flying with eight points in his first 10 minutes on the floor. He was everywhere putting his body on the line to finish with 12 points, four rebounds and a block. The Thunder guard also impressed with a big 3-pointer and made five of his eight field goals.

First career double-double against Portland:

Secondly, we go to a milestone for Hami as he achieved his first career double-double against the Portland Trail Blazers on October 30th.

More from Thunderous Intentions

It was a tremendous feat as Diallo recorded 12 points, 10 rebounds, two steals and an assist to show his efforts across the board.

He was feisty, maneuvering between Portland players to get to the basket and on the attack at all times. One moment that stood out from that game was in the fourth quarter, Diallo got a lob pass from Dennis Schroder and went for a layup.

The first attempt it was blocked, the second time it bounced off the backboard, third time the ball just rolled off and then in a fourth effort Diallo managed to put it back in the hoop.

It was amazing – a representation of his persistence to keep fighting even with four Portland players swarming him in the paint. And of course, there was a hammering dunk in there too.

Diallo double-double in Minnesota:

Another one of Diallo’s top games this season came against the Minnesota Timberwolves in a 113-104 victory on January 25th.

Once again he recorded a double-double but one other thing that stood out was his field goal percentage. Diallo didn’t shoot any 3-pointers however his efficiency is to be commended.

Finishing with 10 points, 10 rebounds, one block and shooting five of six from the field.
