Harnessing Harden:

Ferguson’s greatest defensive effort of the season came in arguably the best defensive performance ever on James Harden.

It was Russell Westbrook‘s first game back in OKC since being traded, and with a possible playoff preview in action, Ferguson was an absolute standout. At the time of the game on November 9th, he held Harden to his lowest-scoring game of the season with 17 points on 29 percent shooting.

He rose to the occasion disrupting Harden’s flow and forcing him to miss shots. Finishing with six points, two assists, a rebound, and two massive blocks.

It showed how you can rely on T-Ferg in big moments, which is a great sign going into the postseason. OKC has many players just like Ferguson who may fly under the radar because they don’t have scoring outbursts every night.

But if we really were to step back and review why the Thunder has won specific games and are successful this year, Ferguson definitely has played a big part in several wins. Even with his slim frame, it’s his mindset and willingness to commit and help his team that makes him a tremendous player.
