The OKC Thunder used a first-round pick in the 2014 NBA Draft on Josh Huestis, and it left fans with a surprisingly mixed reaction

Finally, our last stop on the re-grading every OKC Thunder first-round pick since James Harden tour reaches its conclusion with Josh Huestis. Fitting, the ride ends with one of the most polarizing selections.

On the surface, I know what you’re thinking, How can Josh Huestis be polarizing? Especially when you look at who Sam Presti passed up in favor of the Stanford Cardinal.

The 2014 class was not one to be proud of if you are Presti. With a pair of first-round selections, all the OKC Thunder have to show for it is Mitch McGary and Josh Huestis.

Sam Presti missed out on Nikola Jokic, Jerami Grant, Joe Harris, Spencer Dinwiddie, Dwight Powell, and Jordan Clarkson by selecting Huestis.

As we sit back and reflect for the final time this series, could you imagine the OKC Thunder with Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant, and Nikola Jokic? Even just Joe Harris, an elite shooter, would’ve been a fantastic addition.

You look down the list of names that were selected after Josh Huestis and it is hard to picture the fanbase even being slightly torn on his career.

However, there are still questions about what Huestis could’ve been had he been awarded consistent playing time. The flashes he showed are just enough to allow OKC Thunder fans to think he could’ve been so much more.

Although, some fans just take his career for what it was.
