Our guilty pleasure Game of Zones is back with OKC Thunder captain Chris Paul figuring prominently in episode two of this season’s series.

With the new season of Game of Zones finally out the initial episode only served to whet our appetite for more. In episode two, OKC Thunder point guard Chris Paul is featured prominently.

Game of Zones is a guilty pleasure of NBA fans not just for the entertainment factor but all the little things that require repeatedly playing and stopping the video to catch the little nuances.

For example, episode one served up a ton of funny little additions like (Carlos) Boozer’s hair potion, Jalen Rose being in charge of the Hairline Leveler, or Zach Lowe in the pond with his boat tied to the lowest post in the pond. The latter a play on the scribes podcast “The Lowe Post”.

This season’s plot is clearly tying into the hot topic of the moment which is ‘The Last Dance’. The 10 episode series featuring the final season of Michael Jordan‘s Bulls run for a second three-peat and what would be the swan song as the team was broken up in the offseason.

For those unfamiliar with Bleacher Report’s Game of Zones (first of all you’re missing out!), it’s an animated take on the TV series Game of Thrones. The animated series uses the topical NBA news and players with a creative and humorous spin.

And, just like the final season of GOT (SPOILER ALERT: if you’ve never caught the final season – stop reading) GOZ emphasis is on the Knight King but with Michael Jordan in the role

In the first episode, MJ returns with his fellow Dream Team players. The inference is they battled the Toronto Raptors and finishes with Giannis Antetokounmpo and his Bucks prepared to battle the Knight King.

More from Thunderous Intentions

Episode two features the NBA convening to create a super team that’ll battle MJ the Knight King and his Dream Team since they’ve taken down the Raptors, Bucks, Bulls, and Pistons.

There are too many funny moments to recount. Every viewing offer up another face or tidbit missed the previous time. Steve Ballmer, Daryl Morey, Mike D’Antoni, Sean Marks, James Dolan, and what looks like Mark Cuban in a crazy costume with a crown are all in the crowd.

Plus look for funny takes like Bradley Beal and I think John Wall wearing Wizard’s hats. All very giggle-worthy.

Likewise, the reaction of Kyrie Irving, Russell Westbrook, and other guards who are overlooked with Chris Paul getting the nod is also quite funny. No doubt, this is the creative team pointing to CP3’s exceptional play this season and performance at the All-Star Game.

If you’ve never viewed the series in its entirety it’s a great time to do so given the lack of live games. For those that have caught it but missed this season the two videos above will bring you up to speed.
