Although Montrezl Harrell has provided an argument to take the award and Lou Williams is the current era version of Jamal Crawford the Sixth Man of 2019-20 is Dennis Schroder. That’s not simply a biased opinion – the statistics prove the point.

And, if the raw data doesn’t influence your vote then I suggest answering three logical questions:

  1. Who will be on the court in the closing five minutes of games in the playoffs?
  2. Which of the three players will see their minutes diminish and whose minutes will remain the same or increase?
  3. Which of the threesome provides as much benefit defensively as they do offensively?

More from Thunderous Intentions

It’s hard to imagine the Clippers won’t utilize Marcus Morris over Harrell in the postseason given his size and ability to stretch the floor. Nor that LA would’ve signed him unless they felt they were missing something in Harrell.

Ditto for the addition of Reggie Jackson who presumably was added as a two-way option as closing time guard in place of Lou Williams. Joakim Noah looked better than expected in his first minutes in the scrimmage Wednesday and offers a Swiss Army knife big for Doc

Schroder we know will be on the court and will be imperative to the Thunder’s success.

What we’re left to do now is hope a healthy Baby Schroder arrives in a timely fashion allowing the point guard to be with his wife and family and return to the bubble reinvigorated for the postseason.

Ultimately, let’s hope the voters take the time to dive into the entire statistical data before making a decision.

If they do it’s hard to imagine Dennis Schroder won’t be welcoming two prizes this summer – a new baby and a new trophy for his mantel.
