OKC Thunder pulls off another major comeback- Player grades
OKC Thunder Backcourt Grades:
The OKC Thunder floor general had another typical Chris Paul game. He had 12 points to go along with seven rebounds, four assists, and one steal. His shooting was not there again, going only 4-of-12 from the floor and 0-of-3 from deep.
However, a series of plays at the end of the half showed you how much this game means to CP3. Towards the end of the second period, Paul was trying to get into Robinson’s head, talking to him after he had poked the ball away.
Paul then stole the inbounds pass and then threw the ball with pace at Robinson, giving the Thunder possession. The next play on defense, Paul took a charge from Jimmy Butler. CP3 plays with an irresistible intensity which rubs off onto every member of this team.
The young Thunder guard did not have a great influence on the start of the game. He was solid all game but when running the point during the times CP3 was off the court, the ball was a little stagnant.
SGA did collect 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting but only dished out one assist. This is not a problem when he plays with Paul and Dennis Schroder. However, this is not good enough when he is the primary backup ball handler. It just makes his game a little too predictable.
It may seem a little unfair to grade SGA so low due to his 18 points and such good shooting but his impact on the court was -23, the worst of any OKC Thunder player.
