Austin Rivers

Rocket’s guard Austin Rivers will look to feast with Russell Westbrook expected to be out for the first couple of games.

During the 2019-20 regular season, Rivers averaged 8.8 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.7 assists.

On Sunday, August 7 against the Sacramento Kings, Rivers had arguably the best game of his career – definitely on the offensive end.

Rivers exploded for a career-high 41 points off the bench and added six rebounds, four assists, and two steals. It was a massive performance from the guard who also made six 3-pointers for an impressive 70 percent shooting night.

There’s no doubt he can score and he’ll have a greater role as a playmaker as well.

Instead of keeping up with the lightning speed of Westbrook, Rivers will pose a different type of challenge for the OKC Thunder. Perhaps what will be most challenging for OKC is that he’s unpredictable so they’ll have to come prepared for whatever happens in order to stop him.
