Houston Rockets:

One year removed from the Rockets failing to beat the Warriors, who were without Kevin Durant, Houston arrived in the bubble with a revamped small-ball squad.

They failed to capitalize on moving up the ladder winning half their games but losing Russell Westbrook to injury in the process. Eric Gordon went down during the scrimmages and returned at the end of the seeding games.

The Rockets finished with the fourth seed even though they tied records with the OKC Thunder and lost the season series. That’s because the Jazz also tied them which meant the Rockets got the nod based on winning their division.
