OKC Thunder grinds past Rockets to take Game 3 in overtime – Grades
By Sinjin Snope
A no-brainer who the OKC Thunder’s best bench player tonight. Dennis Schroeder scored a team-high 29 points and had one of the best games of his season. He was aggressive and provided the offensive firepower the Thunder have been so desperate for all series.
Best Opponent:
Yes, James Harden scored 38 points tonight but Jeff Green was the standout Houston Rocket in this scribe’s opinion. Green was sensational as he scored 22 points off of the bench with five 3-pointers. He has been the most consistent Rockets player in this series.
Notes:
- The OKC Thunder played with such heart in that fourth quarter, that may turn this series around if they can play with that level of intensity.
- Lu Dort is amazing.
- The officiating for both sides was once again suspect, as has been the case throughout the NBA restart.
- Nerlens Noel does not need to play as many minutes as he did tonight going forward.
- Bazley needs more minutes.
- If the OKC Thunder can run their offense more consistently, this series will go the distance and is far from over.
The OKC Thunder are back in action on Monday afternoon for Game 4 of this series with the Houston Rockets.
